As we launched the initiative for COVID-19 rescue campaign by the flespi team we receiving feedback and suggestions from many people involved in Telematics industry.

At that moment we are looking for the solution for the mobile phone. We need to wire a person to the phone, the simplest way. All other software components of the solution can be ready in few days.

So we have the hardware from multiple vendors - wristband BLE beacon cost is near $5 per each which is quite affordable. Beacons contain anti-removal clip which makes this solution acceptable for controlling self-isolation of infected or possibly infected people.
The mobile application based on Wiatag that can read and report BLE beacon data is currently under testing.

Current status update

We continue the initiative now together with some other companies from the Telematics sphere that are ready to provide hardware or connectivity services at self-cost for anti-COVID-19 projects. More information is located here.

A couple of connections with several countries' governments has already been initiated.

One of the flespi users has presented the ViralApp application backed by flespi and targeted exactly at this subject.

Well, finally we have a prototype for the solution.

We are working on the open source application with personal privacy in mind that can be used on a country level to check for virus infection possibility. All the personal and location data will be processed locally (on the phone) only. Only infected person are able to upload their paths on the server which will be available for all other people for the cross-test for infection possibility.

The app will be developed by Gurtam Space team and backed up by flespi. Middle of next week we will have the internal prototype that will be either moved to trash bin or continue into a real app.

shal After some internal discussions we decided to cancel the development of this app. Still the prototype may be developed, but no too much expectations so far.
